Why Register Your Puppy

A good breeder always provides a registration certificate when you take home your new puppy or dog. Many times, if you are not planning on showing your dog in the breed ring, the registration form will be a "limited" registration form. A Limited Registration form is one where the puppy is fully registered with the AKC and can compete in all shows EXCEPT the breed ring (because your puppy will have been spay or neutered).
